The Ultra-Orthodox in Israel | National Catholic Reporter by MSW. MGB: These people are Judaism's Menonites who are by and large still in the Romantic period of history. They are not the demographic problem - the Arabs and Palestinians are. Unless both are given a separate state (not a client state like Losotho in South Africa - yes I am infering Apartheid), what the Orthodox do or what they Israelis do about the Orthodox is small potatoes. I can't see Israel becoming a western secular state, which is too bad, so it must be a divided state. The Orhodox are correct about one thing - until the Messiah appears - or more accurately until Torah's injunctions about treatment of the alien are followed - the Holy of Holies will not be reestablished in Jerusalem. The Ark is still in Axum, Eritrea and the monks guarding it will not restore it to the Jews until the Palestinians are treated like brothers.
