MGB: The Pope is correct that you can be a moral atheist.  Indeed, I would go further.  Many atheists come to this conclusion because of misconduct by the Church (from sexual abuse to misogyny) and are speaking up out of love for their fellows who they believe are exploited.  All love comes from the Holy Spirit and we should not ignore her promptings, no matter who She speaks through.
