MGB: You are correct that the Pax Americana can't be stopped, except from within.  At some point, someone should point out that if Congress does not want the Pax Americana to continue it must defund it.  As for Syria, I still believe that the way out is for King Abdullah to have control of everything from Iraq to Lebanon, as well as that area of Palestine and Northern Israel that must be sloughed off to preserve the Jewish state from the demographic certainty of a Muslim majority which must either be embraced in brotherhood or treated with Apartheid measures.
