Ни шагу назад! / Ni shagu nazad! | National Catholic Reporter

Ни шагу назад! / Ni shagu nazad! | National Catholic Reporter by MSW. MGB: These are easy questions. Low information voters watch FoxNews, which is largely a vehicle for Republican National Committee talking points (as are most members of that party in Congress). I worry about high information non-voters. The reason they oppose health care has nothing to do with not liking the bill - they don't like the taxes on the wealthy - particularly those on non-wage income, which may be harder to pass along to consumers (although I am sure some companies will try). If they do, we need the inflation.

As for the Democrats, they need to do more than not step back, they need to step forward and cut the sequester in half. Give us something to support and there might be a groundswell. We have certainly had enough austerity. Indeed, we have had too much.

  1. Oh, Sebelius did not pick the fight with the Church and should not be fired. Indeed, Cardinal Burke should be fired for proposing sedition by trying to make an officer of the United States commit an unconstitutional act by abusing his sacramental powers. If I were president and that happened, I would expel the Nuncio over such conduct. As for where the Catholic Church is on this - they are in bed with the Republicans. Expect no help from them. For the record, it was Valerie Jarrett who picked the fight over birth control - probably without the President's knowledge.
