Bishop Tobin "Disappointed" With Pope Francis | National Catholic Reporter by MSW.  MGB: Tobin thinks the Church should be a wholly owned entity of the Republican Party.  Sadly, the GOP actually does not have any plan to really end or even decrease abortion (which mostly requires doing more for the poor and middle class, not less) - other than, of course, mobilizing Catholic bishops, priests and faithful to give them money, campaign and vote Republican.  We need some Catholic politician to denounce such tactics.  I had hopes for Biden, who seems to also tread a fine line to not alienate those Catholic voters still in the thrall of bishops like Tobin and Chuput.  I'm quite sure that as the Virginia election nears, there will be vague statements of support for Cuccinelli, who is the last person who should ever hold state-wide office.
