The Lessons of History & Syria, Part I | National Catholic Reporter

The Lessons of History & Syria, Part I | National Catholic Reporter by MSW.  MGB: 400 children dying in a Sarin attack is about the ugliest thing you can imagine.  Disabling the ability to do that is fairly easy - and if Assad did not respond to four attacks by Israel, they won't attack us.  Indeed, the reason they are now agreeing to a negotiated solution is that they are deathly afraid of what an attack will do to them.  It was probably not Bashir Assad that ordered the attack.  It was most likely his brother, who is a real thug.  Indeed, the Seals or Delta Force could probably kidnap or kill him and make the entire situation better without up-ending the regime so that Islamists can take control.
