Jesuit suggests female cardinals, asks for names | National Catholic Reporter I would say that Mothers Superior as well as leaders among LCWR would be excellent candidates.  If we can make abbots into bishops we can certainly make abbesses into cardinals (and bishops).  The Gospel of Life is best preached in a female voice.
