MGB: A friend of mine who had been in the Special Forces once remarked to me, way before 9/11, that America had a security problem and that bars were the softest of targets.  Most of the world still has much more security.  I suspect Al Shabab chose Kenya because they were involve in the embassy bombings that took place in 1999.
