More Dissent on the Right
More Dissent on the Right by MSW. MGB: The right wing is still under the absurd delusion that people who can barely read can pull themselves up by their boot straps and be the next Mitt Romney, even though it has never occurred. More likely they like a system where poor black and white women remain in ample supply to care for the bodily needs of elderly rich white people in old age. There is a disturbing trend in TANF education to direct people into training as medical assistants on the way to being LPNs. It seems, however, that their career paths never get to being an M.D., or even the general literacy to become an R.N. As for the future of Medicare, people are right to be concerned and the right wing is right to be scared. Eventually people with a voice and power will realize that medical costs are not going up so much as medical prices - and that either single payer or regulation of health care monopolies in the public interest will be necessary to counter the monopoly power of both big drugs and big for profit hospital chains.
