Boehner's Intro of Dolan

Boehner's Intro of Dolan by MSW. MGB: I am sure the Cardinal's handlers insisted on an empty stage, which is traditional for the closing benediction. It is amusing that it turned out to be much ado about nothing.  One wonders if the Cardinal had any words on the preferential option for the poor for Boehner later on or in the near future - although given the way the election is likely to turn and the lack of legislative days left in the House, it will likely not matter.  Boehner will not keep the Speakership and if so will likely retire.  Cantor may just lose - his challenger is actually very strong. If Pence succeeds as Minority Leader, the GOP is doomed into a libertarian ideology that will make it unable to govern ever again.  I don't think the Cardinal agrees, since he has already corrected Ryan on these grounds. Unlike Ryan's own bishop, Rome will notice if Dolan publicly defies the teachings of the Church on this by not paying due heed to Caritas in Veritate, which actually condemns the retrenchment of social security systems (big government, not our particular program) - George Weigel's red pen to the contrary.
