Trump's many flavors of unseriousness | National Catholic Reporter

Trump's many flavors of unseriousness | National Catholic Reporter by MSW. MGB: Trump is unserious and (MSW is correct) likely insane.  I doubt he planned his gaffe on the Second Amendment - and if he did than it was the worst kind of evil designed to keep his base in line (even they have been defecting).

The NRA revolution option has been tried.  The Civil War was its shining example.  The Federales won that one and laid waste to the South.  Does southern pride want a rematch?  Good luck with that.  You would think that their theory of the case would apply to the Dallas shootings, but apparantly things are different if the shooter is standing up for Black lives.  At heart, the NRA revolution concept is about race war (see the militia movement) and selling firearms.  Most of us are beyond that, so its time to take the guhs.

As for the speech on economics, Trump was essentially throwing his support to the House Blueprint advanced by Speaker Ryan and his leadership. Granted, Ryan seems to have flunked college economics and hires staff who have the same deficiency, but at least it was better than what Trump had before  - or maybe not - since the deficits Trump would give us (Republicans don;t cut spending unless the POTUS is a Democrat) would be expansionary.  Now he is simply going back to the rates similar to the Bush Administrations. These rates are just low enough to control wage growth at the bottom while making the rich richer. Given who the nominee is, their plan matters not, but at least the entire GOP is singing off the same page.
