Bishop Farrell Heads to Rome: What It Means | National Catholic Reporter by MSW. MGB: I am quite sure that Archbishop Chaput's reaction to this appointment was something that cannot be repeated in the NCR comments section.  Hopefully, the bishop can rein in bishops like Chaput who would ignore the new focus on the pastoral and away from rules and magisterial pronouncements.  Maybe now the obstinent will "get it" and drop their official denial that something is really changing.  Of course, Farrell may conclude that some rules changes are necessary to clarify things for some of the bishops - and will get Francis to make them. Either way, it's a win for those of us facing the tragedy of divorce or who have gay family who are celebrating the Sacrament of Marriage, even without (and possibly with) the benefit of clergy.
