MGB: The standard neo-conservative military policy for the region was first spelled out when Dick Cheney was Secretary of Defense.  It involved a series of wars, starting in Iraq, to convert the region to American interests and democracy.  In 2001, work began on that objective.  That sounds more like Hitler than Churchill or Chamberlain. Obama stopped the march of American ambition to the extent he could, although Syria was destabilized by Baathists fleeing Iraq who eventually became the core fighters of ISIL.  The Arab Spring of the Google billionaires did not help the situation, but it was not Obama's fault.  Now, the GOP has an authoritarian standing ready to resume the march to American glory.  I don't think so.  We don't need a Hitler wannabe in the White House.
