Infrastructure Spending and Intellectual Infrastructure | National Catholic Reporter

Infrastructure Spending and Intellectual Infrastructure | National Catholic Reporter by MSW. MGB: I wish you had given the New Republic my number on that counter-intuitive piece.  It would have glorious.  Politico is a center-right newspaper, so of course they would criticize a Clinton plan.  I agree with the points on the $15 minimum wage and the need to create a labor shortage to increase jobs, but I disagree with Hillary's funding source.  Back when gas prices were high, we could not raise a gas tax too.  Gas prices are no longer high.  The way to sustained infrastructure spending is not to tax the rich, but to raise gas taxes. We already know people will pay the higher price, because they have.  This fear of the anti-tax Republican base is overblown.  It is time to outvote them and move on and let them try to keep running their fringe candidates who would prefer the infrastructure to crumble.
