All this talk about the GOP soul will go away if Trump wins. The GOP is perfectly willing to follow an authoritarian, as they followed Nixon.
I would prefer a candidate that is fluent in the Catholic worker movement or even Jewish secular socialism, but I will take a Methodist. My mother was raised Methodist before she became Catholic, although her father was raised in the Disciples of Christ. Original sin is an interesting debating point - mostly overcome by findings in anthropology (there were things Augustine did not know). What matters is where she has taken action - and in that she could be confused with a Catholic worker.
