The most shame goes to those bishops who fight unions, especially in schools. They try to explain it away by the teacher's unions stance on abortion - but abortion is not a real issue beyond electoral unity. Give it up and spend the money.
Churches have enough religous liberty to be stupid and not celebrate the marriages of Catholic gays and lesbians. It it the Church's loss - literally - both in terms of souls and in really big weddings. See what I said about the Church needing mercy FROM the faithful.
I would love to listen to Tim Urban's TED talk, but I need to stop procrastinating about taking a shower and going out.
