MGB: Such legislation means that all employers are held to the same standard - from sick leave to predictable hours.  When dealing with young workers living at home, the impacts are not so large - but for those of us trying to make work - or even to get home before the train stops - matters are a bit more dire - however the infrastructure of these industries is not enough to give real benefits - a problem in an un-declared Depression.
