Links for 06/04/15 | National Catholic Reporter by MSW. MGB:I still wish local diocese made their own leadership decisions rather than relying on the drama that is Rome - and that the people be involved.  What if Augustine had been transferred to Rome or Constantinople or Alexandria? Would that have been better?  Would he have even been ordained?  We should consider such questions while looking to Modernize how we elect bishops and what they do.

CACG's phone is interesting.  Has he been around long enough to have worn out that coat?  If it was made for him, its seems there is no garment rotation.  Of course, the older you get, the more likely you are to have a coat like that.

I will not credit Lepanto or Lifesitenews for any kind of influence over the CRS situation.  It was going to be an issue anyway, even without bishops involving themselves too.  This is a place where a little modernism is indicated.  It will not be the first instance, although I knew people who worked with my wife at a Catholic place who were in an essentially married situation.  I was not covered up and no one cared.  This is the attitude that should be replicated.  The Bishops lost the gay marriage battle, lost it big time and lost it because they are wrong.  Sour grapes on their part is a mortal sin and I hope at least one staffer at USCCB asked to enforce such a response resigns in protest and that it be covered too.  Widely.
